Enough

Enough is enough. I am tired of seeing that scale creep up and down the same 2-3 pounds. I am feeling fat today. It doesn't help that its the week before my period and I feel like all my cravings revolve around chocolate and salt (how typical!!)

Madison slept over last night, so I didn't get to plan lunch or dinner for today. On the way home I was thinking of what I had in my cabinet and fridge and planned out dinner. Had pizza last night- sooo not interested to have it 2 nights in a row. I ended up making ham, mashed sweet potatos, green salad and a drop buiscut (bisquick heart healthy mix) that was surprisingly good. Now I was impressed that I got a meal together and on the table in 20 min. Now I have to focus on PORTION controL!!!

Earlier this month I signed up for the Pound for Pound challenge sponsored by the Biggest Loser. For every pound I can lose by April, a pound of food will be donated to food kitchens country wide.

Its a great program that I signed up for, but now comes the hard part, actually being able to lose the weight. I am not sure where to start, but I need to make a lifestyle change and make it now, not a month from now! I want to be healthier and lighter, I am embarassed how far I have come. Now that is off my chest I can start taking steps to turn that around. Wish me luck...

Inauguration

History was made today!! President Barack Obama has officially begun his first term in office.

I was very suprised to see that we had a link to the streaming CNN feed on the inauguration at work today. We all had the opportunity to take a few minutes to see and hear the historic event today. I am proud that the higher ups at my company realized what a boost this provided to its workers, god knows we need it right now.

This was the first presidential inauguration that I have seen. It was amazing. I knew that Obama was an elouquent speaker, but his speak blew me away. The fact that he wrote the speach was even more amazing. I have a feeling of home with this new administration.

I really think and hope that the changing of the guard will bring very good things to this nation.

Happy Friday!!!!

I am sooooo happy that its finally friday! I have a 3 day workweek to look forward to :)

I have a family birthday party on Sunday. We wanted to have it before my cousin drives back to NC. In my family we come in groups ( on both sides of the family actually) and on dad's side rather than having seperate get togethers we have one happy party. In January alone on both sides we have 6 birthdays! (mine included). We will get to celebrate 4 of them this weekend. I have to remember tomorrow to buy birthday cards.

Question, if one forgets to bring/send birthday cards for Nov and Dec family birthdays is it considered rude to give out the cards at the next family birthday???

BRRRR

So, I found out that my car DOES NOT like the cold! I didn't use the car this weekend other than to clear it off & move it to the other side of the lot to a clear spot. I then made the mistake of moving the car back without letting it warm up. I could tell that it was unhappy, but I had no idea how pissed it was at me till this morning!

I had the bright idea of going out to start my car before having to leave because it is going to get artic this week. What a surprise I had. She didn't want to catch and turn over this morning. After giving it a minute, I started it again and with a really rough sound it caught and started. I decided to give it about 10 min to warm up and she was fine. I think I will be doing the same for the rest of the week as we get the Canadian temps!

How???

So I have a question, how is it that one can lose a cell phone within a month of getting the new phone? Mom can't locate hers, and when I checked the online usage w/ AT&T she didn't even use it yet this month.. I don't get it. I checked her car last night (the car bit me when I checked under the seat... damned auto seats!) I tried to call but naturally the phone is either off or dead. The good thing is that we live in a small place, there are only so many places to hide!

Finally

I feel like I am finally on my way to feeling better! I am taking meds for a sinus infection; good thing is, unlike a cold, the medicine I am on will knock it out completely!!!

Dammit, I just realized I missed a dose of medicine... taking meds 3 times a day should be easy- take them with meals... for some reason I can't seem to do it right!

cough cough cough

Belch.... I don't care for being sick. I actually called out of work today. Still am not feeling any better. I called my Dr office to get an appt, just to be told "I'm sorry she has nothing for the next 2 days... and none of the other dr's in the practice are available". I guess I will have to schedule getting sick from now on.

I started feeling sick Sat after christmas, and doped myself up with Sudafed for 4-5 days to get rid of the sinus pressure. Well, still sick, now I have the cough that threatens to blow the top of my head off and make those around me deaf. I have to keep my throat hydrated at all times, lots of water and eating Ricola like candy. I bought popsicles today and they are beautiful! I wonder if I can bring them to work tomorrow...

Anywho went to a minute clinic in a local CVS and found I have sinusitis. Now at least I have medicine to get rid of it & it will no longer sound like I have cotton stuffed in each ear. The chicky at the clinic asked if I wanted a stronger cough suppressant... Heck yea! I had the option with codine (not good for driving or working) or cough suppressent in pill form. I didn't even know that was an option.!

I am going to work tomorrow so I am off to take out the contacts, dose myself with cough syrup (I'll start the pills tomorrow) and go to bed
